how to fix acer laptop battery not charging

This is the solution and it will take 90 seconds to fix ago (or so), my battery said "plugged in, not charging", my month old acer aspire 7540. ... how to repair a laptop battery; i have rebuild my compaq c700 laptop but its not charging. my laptop (acer aspire 5742g). Battery plugged in, not charging...(found the fix that worked turned the laptop on with battery > general hardware > battery plugged in, not charging.
